Time Value of Data
The time factor is often underestimated when it comes to data recovery. Losing data for a week can be nearly as bad as losing the data forever.
Dr. Dave works on a "Time is of the essence" basis. As soon as the drive is received and checked into our system, it is installed in a data recovery computer and the physical status of the drive and the logical status of the data is assessed. From this assessment, a strategy for the most effective data recovery procedure is devised and implemented.
In every case a drive image is created first and all data recovery procedures are applied to that image on a healthy drive, as these recovery procedures when performed on a faulty drive, can actually further damage the drive and make recovery increasingly difficult. This is a critical point that some recovery services don't observe.
